Posey County Docket Routing
Posey County has both Circuit Court and Superior Court. Docket vs Full Case Record
The docket is the index of case activity. The full case record includes the filings and orders themselves, when they are public and available. For example, a docket may show that a charging information was filed in a criminal case, but the full case record contains the filed charge document. A civil docket may show judgment entered, while the judgment document states the exact relief ordered.

A docket entry should not be treated as a certified copy. Certified copies are requested through the Clerk of the Posey Circuit/Superior Courts.
Posey County Traffic Dockets
Traffic violations and infractions are assigned to Posey Circuit Court under local rules. The clerk's Traffic Department handles payments and fine questions, and MyCase can be searched by citation number when the citation is in Odyssey. Citation numbers do not follow one uniform format, so they often need to be entered exactly as shown on the ticket.
Local ordinance violations are assigned to Superior Court by local rules. The Superior Court FAQ gives a local ordinance cost pattern: a $10 fine plus $135 in court costs, with a higher default fine and repeat increases. Hearings are usually once per month on a Monday morning. For traffic and ordinance dockets, payment or nonappearance can change the record quickly, so current status should be verified with the clerk.
When to Call Posey County Court
Online docket entries can lag behind courtroom activity, and MyCase does not guarantee every document is available to public users. A call is appropriate when a hearing is near, the entry references a warrant or failure to appear, a document link is missing, a party needs certified copies, or a traffic payment must be confirmed before a court date.
The clerk is the first call for record-location questions and copy requests. The Circuit Court office handles Circuit Court questions, and the Superior Court office handles Superior Court questions. The extraordinary-exclusion rule also matters when an otherwise public record has been restricted by court order.
